Discover the Power of Tapping: A Simple Method for Emotional Regulation
March 13, 2024

Did you know that you can often alleviate negative emotions or physical discomfort by tapping on specific points on your body?

This straightforward self-help technique, technically known as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or more simply, Tapping, has garnered significant attention for its effectiveness in regulating emotions and relieving stress. There are over 100 studies supporting this with evidence. Recent research covered in Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine revealed that practicing tapping resulted in a significant decrease in participants' emotional states and physiological markers. The results included decline in anxiety (−40%), depression (−35%), post-traumatic stress disorder (−32%), pain (−57%), cravings (−74%) and cortisol (−37%).

An introduction to Tapping

Tapping leverages the body's electrical nature. You've probably experienced a similar effect, positive or negative, accidentally countless times in your life. Think of the effect that touching a hot stove as it sends an electric impulse along your nerves to your brain. In a similar but positive manner, tapping on specific energy points (meridians) stimulates the smooth flow of energy throughout the body. When negative emotions become stuck, these energy pathways can become clogged, leading to discomfort or distress. By tapping on these points, we send small and controlled-intensity shock waves that help to release blockages and restore balance.

Here is a simple step-by-step guide to tapping:

STEP 1

Identify the issue you want to address and rate its intensity on a scale of 1 to 10.

STEP 2

Begin tapping on the side of your hand (pressure point 1) while repeating an affirmation that acknowledges the issue: "Even though [your issue goes here e.g. I'm anxious], I deeply love and accept myself." Repeat this affirmation three times.

STEP 3

Tap on each of the remaining pressure points, repeating the issue (e.g. I'm anxious). These points are (see image below):

  • Pressure point 2: Top of the head
  • Pressure point 3: Beginning of the eyebrow
  • Pressure point 4: Side of the eye
  • Pressure point 5: Under the eye
  • Pressure point 6: Under the nose
  • Pressure point 7: Under the lip
  • Pressure point 8 Tip of the collarbone
  • Pressure point 9: Under the arm.

Pressure points are at both sides of the body so you can choose whether you’d like to tap on the right, left side or mix it.

STEP 4

After tapping on all points, take a deep breath, Reassess the intensity of the issue on the same 1-10 scale.

STEP 5

Repeat the process until the intensity diminishes.

When Can You Apply Tapping?

Tapping can be used for relief from a variety of issues, including physical pain such as headaches and high blood pressure, as well as emotional distress such as anxiety, fear, anger, depression, and phobias.

By incorporating tapping into your self-care routine, you can empower yourself to manage your emotions and alleviate discomfort effectively and naturally. Give it a try and experience the transformative power of tapping firsthand.

Reprogramming Limiting Beliefs
March 30, 2024
You probably have heard it and you probably say it too but it’s well known that becoming successful begins with thinking positively. But even after starting with positivity, moments of intense stress and self-doubt along the way can often derail our path to success. Whether it's facing a daunting job interview or stepping onto a stage to address a large audience, the grip of anxiety can be paralyzing. If you’re like most people, at those moments, your palms might be sweaty, your breath becomes shallow, your heart races. Anxiety takes over. All these physiological reactions are triggered by negative scenarios that are created in your mind: “I’m not good enough to do this”; “They are all judging me already.”; “What if I forget my script.” What if there is a way to reprogram your mind to overcome these obstacles and unlock your full potential? Hypnotherapy, and several of the techniques used by hypnotherapists, can be a powerful ally in transforming limiting beliefs to pave the way for success. Understanding the Power of Beliefs Beliefs are the foundation upon which we build our reality. From a young age, we learn and develop countless beliefs about ourselves and the world around us, many of which are stored deep within our subconscious mind. These beliefs serve as filters through which we interpret the world and shape our behavior. However, not all beliefs serve us well. Some can be limiting, holding us back from reaching our goals and fulfilling our potential. Identifying Limiting Beliefs Do any of these statements sound familiar? "I am not good enough to succeed on this project." "What's the point of trying, it always ends up the same." "I don’t deserve to be successful." "It’s not okay to make mistakes. I have to be perfect." "You can’t depend on anyone; you have to do everything yourself." "It’s not okay to assert myself." These are just a few examples of the limiting beliefs that can sabotage our efforts and hinder our success. But what if we could rewrite these scripts and replace them with empowering beliefs? Harnessing the Power of Hypnotherapy Hypnotherapy offers a unique approach to help you safely reprogram your thinking and overcome limiting beliefs. Next, in a state of deep hypnotic relaxation, we will help you delve into the root causes of these beliefs, exploring the events and experiences that led you to internalize them. This will allow you to understand how and why these beliefs set themselves in your mind, and will empowering you to challenge and transform them. Through the power of suggestion and visualization, you can imprint these new beliefs into your subconscious, creating a fertile ground for growth and success.
